Area hills

Casto is a small village surrounded by the natural beauty of the Valle Sabbia, making it a perfect spot for those looking to spend a few days amidst lush landscapes, tranquility, and outdoor activities. The area surrounding the village is abundant with forests, trails, and scenic routes that encourage exploration of the natural environment through walking, biking, or horseback riding. One of the most well-known destinations in the region is the Parco delle Fucine, a highly valued natural area featuring paths through rocky gorges, suspension bridges, and waterfalls. Here, visitors can tackle thrilling via ferrata routes or simply enjoy the scenery on trails suitable for everyone. The region also preserves intriguing evidence of local traditions, such as the ancient stone mill that still operates using water power, the Sanctuary of the Assumption, and the historic Fucina Zanetti, which tells the story of the valley's traditional ironworking. Not far away is Lake Idro, an ideal location for water sports enthusiasts like windsurfing and kitesurfing, or for those wishing to relax along its shores. From here, one can also visit the impressive Rocca d’Anfo, a large military fortress from the Napoleonic era overlooking the lake. In a short time, you can also reach Lake Garda, one of the most popular tourist destinations in northern Italy, where historic villages, beach resorts, and numerous leisure attractions, including major amusement parks, can be found. In winter, mountain lovers can easily access the ski resorts of Gaver and Maniva, perfect for snowy days filled with sports and alpine views.
